to all of us “HIT jedis” Mike is like Yoda. What is so great about HIT is that it can be tweaked for everybody using different intensifying techniques, whether it be forced reps ala Yates or rest pause such as DC. there is no right or wrong way to train but frankly i don’t want to do 20 sets for my chest when i can kill it in 2

i read that you shouldnt stretch before training but to warm up on a running machine to get the blow flowing, and then stretch after training

I train with my own methods. And it seems to work. It’s kind of similar with HD though.
Explosive movements, and then my negative phase is really slow. When u do explosive initial movements (without cheating) all your fibers from the target muscle are recruited, and then, with slow negative movements you keep those fibers contracted. It’s really painfull and hard, but NO PAIN, NO GAIN & TRAIN HARD, WIN EASY are my philosophies. I recomend to anyone.

@TheRogueMonk on his other vids wheres hes training that guy hes telling him to slow down like really slow eithen tho hes training faster so that is what makes me think he cant say much himself if hes training faster on these vids

So i read that you yourself as well is a competitive bodybuilder, have you ever watched Glass training sessions? Heavy free weights is what I was bread on. No beginner or intermediate should be doing the Jay Cutler, Branch Warren workout like the magazines publish. I think the Yates philosophy added in with some doggcrap principles is the ideal

sounds good. Make sure you add a day in between, you can dedicate that towards a 30 minute cardio session. I think the most important factiod in muscle growth is BASICS! Presses, flys, dumbell curls, dips, squats, leg press, etc will stimulate more growth than any so called MAGIC routine. I use a 4 way split doing chest & bi’s, back, day off, shoulders & tri’s, legs, off. 3 exercises a bodypart, strictly basics, 1-2 warmups, 1 all out 4-7 rep set. 3 or 4 day you should do good

@Martinl792002 no offense but mike mentzer trained roided up pros from the 80′s and 90′s..and charles glass is considered the top trainer in the world.he does not only train pros but commom folk like yourself…I don’t take advice from people who can not even put up a picture of their physique that they have built with all of their so called knowledge

hans: you still have to remember that Dorian was not natural, therefore he could do more sets…Mentzer’s entire approach to HIT was for NATURAL bodybuilders, mentzer’s HIT is for natural bbers who need more recovery time and less volume

In his older booksfrom like 1980-1984 he gives his work out for workout 4 out of 7-8 day split

Sorry Hans, I am a 30 year old natural bodybuilder who has been using H.I.T. principles the last 6 years. I’ve used both and H.I.T. gives you size, and strength all that Arnold volume crap doesn’t give you. And you can have a life as well. I personally have trained every other day on a 3 day split and I think it’s the best routine i’ve ever done. The One day a week plan I don’t agree with but to each his own

No offense but Charles Glass trains roided up pros of today. If you think you would get good results following Glass you will wind up doing way to many exercises per body part. Not enough stimulation? Flys and bench press for 1-2 sets to failure or 4 sets of 10 decline flys, crossovers, dumbbell press, etc. Done them both, a natural bodybuilder doing a 3 day split will get better results using H.I.T, rather than doing what the pros say

First of all Menzter didn’t train Yates really, they only had 3 training sessions together..Yates reduced his volume at one point but still did a lot more than Mentzer recommends..alot more frequency, sets and reps..he just did less volume and more intensity than some people like Arnold..but he sure didn’t follow Mentzer.

Mentzer in his book recommends 60% carbs, 25% protein and 15% fat.
